Shared to FB Groups-Rachel Holbert Jones
I shared this on FB groups and for some reason administrators turned off commenting. No idea why. So I'm sharing it here.
I'm full-time (mostly). I inherited vacant land & thought I could use it (I can't). Requires a 2000 sq ft house build, no campers, tiny homes, tents, etc. I currently rent a house with my ex and 2 roommates (10mos left on lease). We're having alot of issues with 1 roommate. I was hoping to find someone to assume my portion of the lease & get out of this obligation & live on the land. That's not coming to fruition. The only thing that has come together is my uncle (I work for him) has given me another vehicle for work. It's a 2001 Ford Taurus, backseats don't fold down so same front seat sleeping setup I have in my car. The age irks me a bit but I'm good. BC my car has been wrecked, the insurance co insisted on an inspection before giving me comprehensive/collision coverage. Have never heard of them sending someone to the house. Hence, my Uncle giving me another car to drive.
I wish there was a way to get rid of the difficult roomy but he's on the lease. My ex has been paying most of my rent bc I'm rarely there but the roommate is making life miserable & he's not so inclined to keep paying bc he & the other roommate are ready to walk out. I can't afford another eviction & Difficult won't leave. He made that clear but he can't cover our rent payments. And would let Landlord evict out of spite. Atty said even if I/we leave voluntarily the eviction would still show up on my record. Ex has severe diabetes (made worse by this). We've offered him $ to leave but he won't. Even though I'm not there Roomy calls to rant. Any ideas on how to legally motivate him to go? It's a good rental with a great landlord. Thx in advance.
